Dads Bring Your Child to School Day
We love our Dads here at PS 136! Thank you to all of the fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, uncles, brothers, cousins, and friends who help to build our strong school community each and every day! Everyone who participated in this event received a certificate and refreshment as a token of our appreciation!
1st Day of School
What a WONDERFUL first day here at PS 136!! Our students came in eager to begin another school year! They met their teachers, got familiar with their classrooms, and enjoyed their first day back for the 2017-2018 school year!
2nd Grade Poetry Slam!
These poets were "jamming" with their original pieces of poetry! After creating their pieces, they were able to share with classmates and visiting family members. Way to go 2nd Grade!
History and Culture Fair
Our students worked hard to research and create projects about people who took a stand in history. Congratulations to all of our participants and winners!
Harvest Hoe Down!
Swing your partner, do-si-do! We celebrate the harvest season at PS 136 with our annual Hoe Down! This event is full of games, activities, and of course-- DANCING! We dressed up in our best western gear and had a great time! Yee-Haw!
Character Day Parade!
Character Day is an exciting day here at PS 136! Each grade selects a famous author, and each class selects one book written by that author. Classes will read that story and engage in many activities regarding the text. On the day of the parade, students and teachers make their story "come to life" with beautiful banners and costumes, as well as participate in a parade around our community. Take a look at some of these awesome stories!
Breast Cancer Awareness Day
PS 136 makes strides against breast cancer! Students and staff showed support for ongoing research of breast cancer by wearing pink and participating in a walk through our community. Together, we raised awareness and money to support the cause!
We've set a goal-- 26.2 miles in one year. The Mighty Milers program encourages kids to stay active in their daily lives and to track their progress. As a school, we plan to go the distance of a full marathon before the last day of school. Think we can do it? Of course we can!
